Whether you buy a Canon or Nikon, or some other brand (not that I'm against Sony, Olympus, Panasonic, and others – it's just a fact that more people buy Canon and Nikon than any other brand), you need a lens or two to go with it. Each manufacturer has a general purpose lens that promote with their cameras. If you buy one of "less professional" models like the Canon Rebel T1i or Nikon D5000, you may want to consider buying the camera body without the kit lens.

Here's why … There are many around stemware that cover more than your shooting conditions, and if you are unable to pay for bundles of lens, we get just one lens that can do most jobs photography you have in mind. Yes, it will cost you a bit more money because we speak better lens with the most likely range of concentration. A good walk around Lens has many assets on the cheap kit lens.

The first is image quality. The reason you move a digital SLR is to get better images, so do not limit yourself to just one lens kit in May that disappoint you.

Second is the focal length. The kit lens for cameras specified above 18-55mm. This may not be sufficient to handle your needs. Consider Getting something that will cover 18mm to 135mm or 200mm. • AF = Auto Focus
• = 18-250mm focal range of the will of a very wide angle 18mm to a maximum length of 250mm. Good for large landscapes, and objects begins to look like wild animals to fill the image frame.
• = F/3.5-6.3 aperture. This is a function of the amount of light the shutter can strike the image sensor. The value is low, more light (and thus the shutter speed faster). When there are two numbers, it is here, the lower number will be available to the broader perspective (like 18mm), and as you zoom to the longest beaches, the opening increases (in this case at F/6.3) with focal length allowing less light into the camera.
• Di-II = A designation for lenses that can be used on digital cameras (cameras not film).
• LD = Low Dispersion. A type of glass used in lenses for better help resolve image distortion by making light does not bend so as to distort the image.
• Aspheric = A more complex surface profile of the lens which can eliminate spherical aberration and reduce other optical aberrations compared to a simple lens. In other words, this form of glass corrects some of the problems associated with simple curves in the camera lenses.
• (SI) = inner focusing is a design of the camera lens in which the focus is moved by moving the internal lens group or groups only, without any rotation or moving the front lens element.
• Macro = the ability to take photos as close up individual flowers and insects. The macro setting allows the glass lens on line differently to better focus in close situations.

If you are buying your first DSLR camera, consider getting the body only and substituting a more useful walk around lens for the kit lens. There are several excellent lenses that sell for less than $500, which in the world of good quality camera lenses is quite attractive.
